Sandra is an experienced classroom teacher with extensive expertise in providing instructional support for students with additional learning needs. She completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland in 2020 and works as a literacy facilitator for Tui Tuia in the Manawatū and Whanganui region, as well as providing online PLD for more remote areas of Aotearoa. She provides literacy knowledge, leadership mentoring and facilitation experience.

She supports the building of school literacy leaders' capability to ensure schools have a planned approach to literacy teaching and learning across three tiers. She collaborates with school leaders to utilise the literacy expertise of staff to build cohesive literacy programmes across the school. Meeting the needs of school programmes and the changing direction of the NZ Curriculum continues to be at the forefront of all professional discussions and PLD that Sandra provides.
