This course is designed to inform and support language teachers new to Aotearoa New Zealand.

Tui Tuia Languages will provide grants of up to $8,000 (including GST) for schools to develop and support their own classroom teachers in order to build a sustainable Chinese language programme within their schools.

This course offers a basic introduction to conversational and classroom Chinese for non-native teachers who are interested in teaching or learning Chinese.

This course is designed to support teachers to grow and develop the heritage languages of linguistically and culturally diverse learners in their classroom and the wider school. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills, resources and networks to support heritage language learners and their families in their schools.

This course is designed for language teachers of junior programmes to explore different language teaching approaches that suit Years 9 and 10, equip themselves with practical strategies to build learners' confidence in all language skills, and implement newly learned approaches and strategies to provide a more solid foundation for senior language programmes for their learners.

This course will support Chinese language teachers to successfully design and implement engaging Chinese classroom activities for enhanced learning outcomes.
