Overview

Rosaria Campbell was an extraordinary linguist, educator and person. She taught French, lead departments and held the position of National Language Adviser for French from early 2017-mid 2018. Rosaria spent the last few years of her life in France where she became involved in the New Zealand Liberation Museum in Le Quesnoy, overseeing the restoration of the building. In memory of the contributions Rosaria made to the teaching and learning of French in Aotearoa during her short but impactful career, this award will be given to one teacher who will travel to France in September 2025. The recipient will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Museum and immerse themselves in Parisian culture. We invite all teachers to nominate a French-teaching colleague who they believe upholds these values and whose efforts in supporting the language and their learners go above and beyond what is expected. Once you register your name, we will send you a nomination form to complete, where you can tell us why you believe this teacher deserves to be recognised. The person you nominate could be a teacher at your school or a different school. Please make sure you check with the person BEFORE you nominate them.
