Martin Turner

Leadership Consultant

Martin is a leadership consultant and facilitator in the Educational Leadership team at Tui Tuia | Learning Circle. He has extensive facilitation experience supporting principals and leadership teams through his wide knowledge of the education sector.

After experience as a primary school principal, Martin joined the University of Auckland as a Leadership and Management facilitator for principals in Auckland and Tai Tokerau, and was also a team leader for the university’s Ministry of Education funded Leadership and Assessment contract. He has also been a lead mentor for the University of Auckland’s First-time Principals’ Programme.

Martin has experience in change leadership, developing collaborative expertise and the evaluative capability of leaders and teachers to become more effective in accelerating student learning, and achieving equitable student outcomes. Martin is an accredited Cultural Capability PLD facilitator, and has specific interest, commitment and expertise working with school leaders and teachers around the culturally sustaining pedagogies that build the school wide cultural capability needed to enable Māori to achieve educational success as Māori.
