Dr Mark Dashper

Ngati Pākehā, based in Tāmaki Makaurau

Mark is highly experienced in innovative teaching and learning environments and flipped classrooms, e-Ako pedagogies in collaborative environments to support kaiako to make positive shifts in their practice and encourage ākonga achievement, blended learning PLD to schools, culturally sustaining pedagogy, Ngā Toi.

Mark has worked with Digital Fluency, Digital Technologies and Hangarau Matihiko in support of all learning areas. He was previously a PLD Practitioner at Te Puna Wānanga and Team Solutions, University of Auckland. He also led a three-year MoE Talent Development Initiative, titled Te Manu Aute, in a fully web-based programme of learning for 64 schools across Northland.  

Mark brings experience in:

  • Innovative teaching and learning environments and flipped classrooms
  • e-Ako pedagogies in collaborative environments to support kaiako to make positive shifts in their practice and encourage ākonga achievement 
  • Blended learning PLD to schools
  • Culturally sustaining pedagogy,
  • Ngā Toi.

His research area explores the educational potential of social networking environments for Māori students, as well as culturally sustaining pedagogy.
