Caroline Taripo-Keith

Kaiwhakaruruhau

Caroline is an experienced practitioner having worked across a range of educational settings in England, France, Spain and New Zealand for over 25 years. After completing her Masters in Educational Leadership & Management in 2018 she stepped into an Across Community of Learning (CoL) position leading the development of a CoL Well-being Strategy. For the past four years, Caroline has specialised in applying indigenous Pacific models to better understand how services and programmes meet the needs of the Pacific communities they serve.

Caroline’s Master’s thesis explores the challenges teachers and leaders face in demonstrating and appraising commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi in New Zealand secondary schools. She has experience leading Community of Learning and school-wide Professional Learning and Development (PLD) and is passionate about co-designing PLD through a mana-enhancing collaborative inquiry approach.

Caroline places students and their whānau and communities at the centre of what she does, acknowledging the richness of their voice and the power this has to influence change. She is humbled by the challenge of implementation and about how much all of us involved have to learn about how to turn change into intended improvements.
