Funding Opportunity for 2025 Korean Language Programmes in New Zealand Schools

The Korean Education Centre in New Zealand is committed to supporting primary, intermediate, and secondary schools across New Zealand in establishing and sustaining Korean language programmes.

For schools interested in introducing Korean language programmes in 2025, funding opportunities are available to provide students with an enriching experience of Korean language and culture. Applications and detailed guidelines for 2025 is now available on their website. Applications close on 6 December 2024.

2024 Korean Speech Competition: School Division

The annual Korean Speech Competition, hosted by the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Auckland and the Korean Education Centre in New Zealand, provided an exciting opportunity for school learners of the Korean language to showcase their skills through video submissions.

Highlighting the growing interest in the Korean language and culture among learners, students from various schools across New Zealand participated, showcasing language skills, creativity, and cultural understanding in their speeches.

The winners for the school divisions are as follows:
