The Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) serves as a standardised assessment for non-native speakers of the Korean language. Administered six times annually (in January, April, May, July, October, and November) within Korea, it is also available, albeit less frequently, to individuals studying Korean abroad.

The Korean Education Centre in New Zealand proudly acknowledges the exceptional achievements of primary, intermediate, and secondary students who have demonstrated excellence in their Korean language studies. Each year, at the end of the school year, these outstanding students are recognised with the prestigious Korean Language Awards.
In December 2023, a total of 42 students from 32 schools received the awards during their respective school prize-giving ceremonies. These awards serve as a testament to the students' remarkable dedication and accomplishments in Korean language learning.

With the growing popularity of Korean culture, the Korean Education Centre in New Zealand offers young Kiwis and schools exciting opportunities to explore and immerse themselves in the unique culture of Korea. Applications open from Term 1, allowing schools to apply for cultural sessions, including traditional Korean games, Taekwondo, or K-pop dance.
