Tracey Dykstra

Facilitator

Tracey Dykstra is a Facilitator for Tui Tuia | Learning Circle’s Languages Team.

Tracey has taught Years 7 – 13 Japanese and ESOL for over 30 years. Passionate about teaching and learning, Tracey has most recently taught Japanese at Years 7 & 8 in Northland and continues to learn languages currently focusing on further studies in Spanish.

Tracey’s personal educational philosophy has been influenced by her master’s in educational psychology and focuses on evidence to improve learning for all students.  

As well as being a HOD of Languages in two Auckland secondary schools she has also held leadership positions in Auckland schools as a Deputy Principal and Principal.  As a language teacher and school leader, Tracey has had a variety of professional interests including catering for diverse needs, the use of technology to enhance learning and recently completed a master’s paper on literacy learning.

Tracey is looking forward to working with language teachers and HODs across all sectors of the language teaching community. Tracey is based in Northland.
