Overview

This in presence workshop is designed to provide participants with the tools and skills needed to motivate students to produce oral and written outputs, through activities such as manipulation, visual thinking, role plays, using three dimensional objects and realia to convey cultural elements. Participants will gain strategies for using objects effectively to boost motivation and catching the students´ attention in the classroom, assigning them clear educational value. They will also work in small groups and create their own activities using objects.

Where: Spanish Embassy - 11th floor, 50 Manners St, Wellington

Registrations open on 14 February and close on 25 February 2025

What we will cover

Participants will be guided through the process of selecting objects to manage the class, play, convey culture, explain the functions of the language, decorate and set up the classroom, ready for use in oral and written production activities. 

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: 

  • Select realia and other objects for each purpose.
  • Create simple oral and written tasks using physical objects to stimulate interaction and mobility
  • Learn best practices to foster motivation among students and improve their oral skills while doing things with their hands.
