Overview

Participants will gain practical insights into setting up and managing an exchange programme between schools in New Zealand and Spain. They will also have the opportunity to submit an expression of interest to be matched with a suitable partner school, ensuring the best fit for their students and learning goals. Authentic communication and real-world language use are key to meaningful language learning. In this workshop, we will explore a range of collaborative projects that schools can engage in to strengthen cultural understanding, enhance language skills, and build global connections. Opportunities may include activities such as pen pal exchanges, virtual classroom interactions, and full-immersion exchange trips, offering flexible ways to create authentic learning experiences.

When: 4.30 - 5.30pm Wednesday 30 April 2025

Where: Online - Zoom link will be sent to registered participants.

Registrations open on 15 April and close on 29 April 2025.

What we will cover

Participants will have the opportunity to submit an expression of interest to be matched with a school in Spain.

They will learn how to design a collaborative project, establish initial contact, and take the first steps in setting up a successful partnership. This includes key aspects such as gaining necessary approvals, setting up shared resources, and coordinating tasks.

We will also explore best practices from eTwinning projects, showcasing successful models of international school collaboration.

This workshop will be delivered in Spanish.

At no cost for NZ registered teachers.

Tui Tuia | Learning Circle Languages is funded to provide professional learning for provisionally and fully registered Primary, Intermediate and Secondary teachers throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
