Overview

Discover engaging ways to teach your Spanish students about Día de Los Reyes (January 6) in your classroom, enriching their understanding of the traditions that make this day special for Spanish-speaking children. This workshop will explore the celebration, and you will have the chance to make and decorate (and eat!) this tasty treat so that you can take the learning and accompanying resources back to school to use with your Spanish students. ¡Qué rico!

When: 4:00-5:30pm, Tuesday 12 November 2024

Where: Room B210, Baradene College of the Sacred Heart, Auckland

Registrations open on 31 October 2024 and close on 8 November 2024.

What we will cover

The workshop will start with an overview of the traditional celebrations of Día de Reyes (6 January). We will then explore some language and culture learning resources for the classroom based on this celebration. Finally, teachers will have the opportunity to make and decorate their own delicious Roscón de Reyes.

This workshop will be delivered mostly in English with some Spanish depending on participants' language proficiency.

Tui Tuia | Learning Circle Languages is funded to provide professional learning for provisionally and fully registered Primary, Intermediate and Secondary teachers throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
