Overview

This workshop aims to promote presence of the small islands of Wallis and Futuna, enabling teachers to incorporate knowledge of the islands’ history, culture, and languages into their lessons and enhance their students’ understanding of the French-speaking Pacific.

Workshop 2 (in English)

3:45-4:30, Thursday 14 November 2024

This workshop will be delivered in English

Online - Zoom link will be provided to registered participants before the workshop.

Registrations open on 24 October 2024 and close a day before each workshop.

What we will cover

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to gain a comprehensive overview of the two islands that make up the French collectivité d’outre-mer: Wallis and Futuna.

Participants will also learn about the islands’ history, culture, and languages while considering how this knowledge can be integrated into lessons for students in Aotearoa.

Two workshops will be offered, covering the same content: one will be delivered in French and the other in English. Please sign up for the session that best fits your preferences.
